Ecotraining Australia is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and business consultancy firm. We deliver VET accredited courses in Tourism and Green Skills, plus provide small business development consultation. Our organisation has its roots in South Africa, where we essentially started the safari guide training industry in 1993, subsequently growing into a training and consulting organisation with reach across the African continent. Ecotraining Australia built its first camp in the Northern Territory, with lessons learned from the vast experience on the African continent combined with an Australian team who have over 50 years of collective experience in tourism, small business management and Indigenous training. This camp is a carbon copy of the training facilities used in Africa and was the first of its type in Australia, having purpose built infrastructure for remote, practical delivery of training in an immersive bush setting. Ecotraining Australia has built a reputation as a niche RTO, being awarded several government contracts, in particular through the Productivity Places Program (PPP) launched in 2009. Ecotraining had great success with over 80% employment outcomes from the 2009 PPP initiative and will be striving to achieve these same results in all training programs for 2010 and beyond. (PPP) is a joint Australian and Northern Territory government program funded by the Department of Education and Training (DET) and the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR). Ecotraining Australia forms part of a much larger International organisation dedicated to delivering the highest quality practical business consultancy, tourism and green skills training. The fundamental goal of our organisation is to raise the standard of knowledge and awareness of Australian cultural and natural heritage by Reconnecting people to Nature through positive experiences with our land. It is also to see positive economic and social outcomes developed through direct consultation on small business projects. The driving force behind these goals are our five core principles that are woven into the ethos our staff, stakeholders, students and customers.
